2.              Storage

The next step towards the maintenance of your machine is the storage. Please ensure that you store your air compressor at a safe and sound place. Air compressors come in various sizes and the storage space should have the room to accommodate the air compressor properly. You can cover the machine with a piece of cloth to safeguard it from dust and pollutants.

3.             Compressor Types

Majorly, there are two kinds of air compressors - one, which is oil-free and another, that need oiling on a regular basis. The oil-less compressors are easy to maintain but they wear very easily and they need a replacement soon. whereas, the compressor that needs oiling is sturdier. Though they demand a little more attention from the owner they keep on enjoying the rejuvenating oil bath and ensure a longer life.

4.             Daily Maintenance

Make sure to drain any excess moisture from the oil compressor to keep it clean. However, the air compressor should be cleaned with a damp cloth every morning before using it for the day. This will ensure that the regular dust is getting cleaned daily.

5.             Weekly Maintenance

Once in a week, you should remove the debris and obstructions from the air vents. Wipe them out so well that they are as clear as the whistle. If in case, the air compressor has an air filter, make sure to clean that filter every week and replace them if needed. If the use of the air compressor is not regular, this activity should be done weekly or else after every 5th use.

6.             Monthly Maintenance

This should be a meticulous inspection into all the parts of the air compressor such all its nooks, hoses, cords and so on. You need to look into each detail to find out if everything is working well with the air compressor. Check that the safety release valve opens properly and releases the air pressure. The hoses should be leak free and should be in good condition.

7.             Bi-Yearly Maintenance

This is a six-monthly inspection to look into all the critical parts of the air compressor. You should ensure that all the parts are working well. Check the airtightness, compressor fittings and see if there are any leaks in the compressor.

It is imperative for you to go to the air compressor manufacturer in India if you come across any problem with the air compressor. It is the right time to give some time to your air compressor so that it continues to power your tools and equipment.
